Here at DEVSIO, there are 5 questions we seek to answer in the early days of any product development effort so that we’re working on the right things at the right time, It’s important to us and our clients that we’re doing everything we can to reduce risk, save on software development costs and protect precious startup budgets. Answers to these questions are the beacons we seek through our product development process.

Roadmaps ahead can be deceiving… Trust is built on your ability to tell the story of the journey behind you. Knowing how we got here is powerful! It sets the stage for making the right-next-best-step decisions together. It’s a trust builder like no other in this business. It’s proof that doing what we said we were going to do matters.

How do we even know what the-right-next-best thing to do even is? The most feel-good answer that comes to mind is to just pull from the top of the backlog…But I find this to be short sighted. A lot can change within a sprint or two. As much as it stirs the dust into the air, and no one likes to feel a change in direction, I like to step back and look at more sides and angles.

At the end of the day, my paycheck came from the engineering firm hired to deliver. Even though I’d fight hard for our clients to create value everyday by our contracted teams, they would never be able to fully trust me if I’m not directly in their court.
In these early months at DEVSIO, being embedded and on the side of my clients in their offices and executive teams, has been a total game changer.
